1. What does an ARCH certification cost?

Preliminary Congenital Certification (for dogs/cats less than 12 months) - $15.00
All other ARCH Cardiac Certifications - $20.00
Creating a user account and placing your animals in the registry is free of charge.

2. What if there is no Internet access at the clinic I am attending?

Owners and cardiologists both have the ability to print exam forms prior to an upcoming clinic. ARCH suggests that if you are unsure about the availability of an Internet connection at an upcoming clinic, you print exam forms for your animals, or print blank forms and bring them with you to the clinic.

    You can print forms by:
    - Signing into ARCH and clicking the “Print Exam Forms” button located in the lower right hand corner of your list of animals.
    - You may also select a specific animal from your list and then click the “Print Form” button from their demographics page.
    - The system will provide instructions, letting you select the forms you wish to print.

Cardiologists will keep the competed forms for a cardiac exam and will send them into ARCH. The information and certificate will then be accessible through your online account.

3. Can anyone view my animal’s information?

No – your animal’s information (demographics, and certificates), as well as owner profiles, are completely private.

To make them searchable by the public, and other breeders, you must select “Allow Public View of Certificate” on your animal’s certificate form.

4. Does ARCH certify mixed breed dogs and cats?

Yes – when selecting your animal’s breed, simply choose “Other”, and type in a description of your animal.

5. Is my animals unique password the same as the password I use to login?

You can have the same password but we do not recommend this. If you wish to share your animal’s information with a cardiologist for any reason you will need to provide them with the animal’s unique identifier and password.

We recommend using a different password than you’re the one used for your personal account.

If you choose, each of your animals can have a different password, or they can be grouped with the same password for individual sites, or they can all share a passowrd, however you decide.

6. Does ARCH certify cats?

Yes – the process and fees are identical. The only difference will be seen in the exam forms used.

7. Will all cardiac clinics be using ARCH to certify animals?

Only screenings and clinics performed by Board-certified cardiologists are included in the ACVIM Registry of Cardiac Health.

8. Where can I find a Board-certified Cardiologist?

ACVIM has the ACVIM Specialist Search where you can search and find a Board-certified Cardiologist(s) near you.
